Same here for me on Gutsy with my IDE Drive and that SCSI-Emulation.
uname -a
2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
sudo hdparm -c1 /dev/sda
/dev/sda: setting 32-bit IO_support flag to 1 HDIO_SET_32BIT failed: Invalid argument IO_support = 0 (default 16-bit)
It would be really GREAT if this could be solved.
