Comment 27 for bug 123617

I'm still seeing the issue with my machine updated to hardy and using linux-image-2.6.24-11-generic.
On boot I get dropped to a busybox shell because the hdd/controller cannot be initialized.

Re-adding irqpoll to the kernel commandline makes the machine boot again.
