You could trivially confirm whether this is an Ubuntu patch by picking the
mainline kernel which the Ubuntu kernel you have is based on. Your full
Ubuntu kernel version can be found with 'cat /proc/version_signature',
and you can map that to a mainline kernel version via the table at the
URL below:

    http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/info/kernel-version-map.html

So if you have 2.6.31-16.51 then you would want to test with mainline
2.6.31.4. As before the mainline kernel can be found at the URL below:

Please do report any testing you do back here, please include full version
numbers for both kernels and indicate how you did your testing.
