The problem with "resetafter" is that it causes the CPU to thrash given how often the driver gets out of sync. I tried doing that on my system, and it made it completely unusable (could barely type enough characters to update modprobe and regenerate initram. So far I've been living with loading the driver as proto=exps. I don't really use / want to use the touchpad itself, so the loss of functions doesn't matter as much to me. I do care, however, that in this mode, the kernel sees both devices as a single basic mouse, so I can't disable the touchpad to prevent accidental hits.

Sad to hear that A11 hasn't changed anything; I've been holding off upgrading the BIOS as I worry about bricking the system. Does it fix anything? The keyboard repeat? Does anyone know if that is related to this or not?
