Comment 6 for bug 160679

I have this same problem in a Toshiba Satellite U200-SP7011. I muted the sounds in Windows XP, and now there seems to be no way to unmute it from Ubuntu. I am using Ubuntu 8.10.

I followed the instructions in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems, and the utils_alsa-info scripts created the next link:
