Can you see if this bug happens with the v4.8-rc1 kernel? It can be downloaded from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.8-rc1/

If it does happen with -rc1, we can bisect between v4.7 and v4.8-rc1 to identify the commit that introduced this regression.
