Comment 1 for bug 191182

Have been having some success lately with;

sync
/etc/init.d/nfs-kernel-server stop
sync
umount /home
halt

I dont recall getting the crash when shutting down this way, the crucial element (I suspect) being the sync between stopping nfs and unmounting /home
