@JOHN VINCENT Sorry for the late reply. Yes, usually the bug verification is done by the person who raised the issue to confirm the problem is solved. No need to reinstall the entire OS for this fix, just upgrade to the desired kernel version. The change is currently in -proposed. Next week the new kernels should land in -updates.
- focal: 5.4.0-164.181
- lunar: 6.2.0-34.34
- jammy: 5.15.0-85.95

To install a kernel from -proposed, I include -proposed to the apt-repository list:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:canonical-kernel-team/proposed

And then install the desired version.
