Same problem in 8.10 RC1. I am using the alternate install disk, and no matter if I use guided or manual partition, the partitioner immediately goes to about 33% and hangs. I have tried a variety of different things: switching hard drives, cd drives, burning a new install disk and using it, and partition in different ways. I didn't have this problem in 8.04.1.
