FYI: my above comment is regarding kernel 2.6.27-4

I confirm that I do not have these kernel panics on startup with kernel 2.6.26-5 as the bug reporter has stated.

I will test several times with kernel 2.6.27-5 (released in Ubuntu on October 2nd) and report if I have these problems.
