It looks like a patch that fixes this issue is already in the latest lucid kernel, can you please upgrade your kernel and report if this problem is actually fixed?
*Acer* dmi modalias wildcard causes the driver to load on systems that are unsupported, causing the network manager to report that it is disabled, coz sysfs rfkill entry is always disabled. upstream patch
