Hello,

I am posting again to help you improving that bug, as my english was not so good in my last message.

The thing is that I could fix that bug again, and willl explain you how to reproduce that mistake, and fix it temporarily.

I am using Ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop.

So, to reproduce that bug, you just need to browse your home directory with nautilus and try to open a music folder with totem for example. To do so, you just do a right click in nautilus, and chose totem to open that music folder.

When doing this on Ubuntu 10.10, this actions modifies the following file : ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list

I could realize that this actions modifies the inode/directory settings in that file, adding the value "totem.desktop" before "nautilus.desktop". The problem is that if you try to open your home directory from the gnome toolbar, then the folder will be opened using totem instead of nautilus.

To fix that bug, you just need to delete the "totem.desktop" entry, and the home directory will be opened again using nautilus.

I don't really know why this file can be modified only by doing a right click and choosing another application to open a music folder, but the thing I am sure is that the mimeapps.list file is modified directly after this action, and create that bug.

I hope my explanations was clear, and will help the Ubuntu community to fix that one. In my opinion, that bugs affects gnome settings, and not totem.

Feel free to tell me again if you need more explanation. If my english was not so good, I also can explain myself in French, just let me know.

Best regards,
