Alexander Sack: I tried it, just on a live CD (yesterdays build), exactly like you wrote, even with that optional step, but after I start Network Manager again, Apport appears and it says "Network Manager closed unexpectedly".
I will try to install it on a hdd, yet, and see whether it changes something.
