Does the problem only appear when one is trying to use their PPTP (compared to VPNC, OpenVPN) account?
I had tried quite a few different options and I managed to get PPTP VPN working.
I think the issue was that EAP (in Authentication methods) was enabled.
Could someone try, with their vanilla system, that simply by disabling the EAP authentication method, they are able to connect to their PPTP VPN using NetworkManager (no other configuration hacks) in Ubuntu 9.04?
