same here with 180.11 or 180.22 on a Vaio VGN-VZ21E, Ubuntu 8.10 with kernel 2.6.27-11, GPU is GeForce 8400M GT, laptop does not wake up after suspend and requires a hard reset.

Works fine with 177.82 driver
