331 works fine here, even with hybrid graphics.

Please attach the following files:

1) the output of "apt-cache policy nvidia-331"
2) the output of "apt-cache policy acpid"

As for 304, I haven't fixed it to 3.13 yet.

The following line in your X log is very suspicious:
[ 10.975] (WW) Open ACPI failed (/var/run/acpid.socket) (No such file or directory)
