After todays update of Plymouth, I no longer had the logo on boot and it stopped and froze at some undetermined point. Power cycle was the only alternative.

Removing Plymouth fixed my issue.

I get the message on boot up, "..could not connect to plymouth", whether Plymouth is installed or not?!
