I just upgraded to Edgy yesterday, and found that a bunch of packages had been "orphaned" (like gnumeric), where dpkg didn't remember that the binary was installed. Perhaps quack-el was in an odd state of having .el's lying around and emacs-install picking it up?

Nevertheless, I could not get the Edgy version of emacs-snapshot-gtk to load vc-svn.el, so I upgraded to a backport.
