Thank you for the patch. Please find below a couple notes from a quick review.

1) Why is the Standards-Version being increased? It's not necessarily incorrect, but it's generally good practice to at least note this type of change in the Changelog.

2) Please consider altering the Maintainer entry as outlined in https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel-announce/2007-February/000249.html

Thanks for the quick update. The revised patch looks good to me. Please note that it may be affected by bug #47426, as both "Math" and "Science" are secondary categories according to http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/apa.html. The current archive contains many such .desktop files, and fixing them within the feisty timeframe is not a current priority.

This change was not uploaded for Feisty. It will need to be resubmitted for Gutsy.

Thanks for updating the debdiff. A few notes below:

1) It is usually a good idea to remove the differences in config.sub and config.guess from the debdiff prior to publication. These changes are usually automatically generated.

2) I'm not sure why the name of the executable in sg.desktop was changed from "scigraphica" to "sga". When I install scigraphica, it does not provide /usr/bin/sga

3) The sc.desktop file will not be installed. It needs changes to debian rules. As scigraphica appears only to provide the scigraphica executable, I believe this should be dropped.

4) The resulting sg.desktop does not validate with desktop-file-validate. Please make sure that your changes result in a valid file.

5) Please refer to http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/apa.html, and ensure that one of the Main categories is included in your Categories listing.

A fix is present, and needs to be released

In fact, a fix is being worked on, and needs to be refreshed before upload.

I just had a minute to prepare a fresh new debdiff that will fix this issue. (I've tested it and it works great)
