Hi,

This error is very confusing, could you please provide some more
information that will provide some insight as to what is going on.
Please run all of the commands in a terminal below and report
all of the output,

dpkg -l startupmanager
grep startupmanager /var/log/dpkg.log
ls /var/lib/python-support/
ls /var/lib/python-support/python2.4
ls /var/lib/python-support/python2.5
ls /var/lib/python-support/python2.4/bootconfig/
ls /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/bootconfig/
ls /usr/lib/python-support/
ls /usr/share/python-support/
