I have a similar problem with seeking and MPEG-1 videos. Seeking either does results in the video being 20 seconds or so off. On some MPEG-1 videos seeking to any location results in play freezing until the video is restarted from the beginning. After seeking a couple times using the slider or the fast-forward ("skip forwards) context menu entry, totem will seg fault.
