Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
Ubiquity hangs while detecting filesystems. After several minutes, it continued with installing packages to disc. Then it hung while trying to detect IDE-chipsets and FireWire CDROMs. It didn't continue, so i had to kill several log-output processes which run modprobe commands for these modules:
IDE-chipset support:
aec62xx
alim15x3
amd74xx
cmd64x
cs5530
cs5535
cy82c693
hpt34x
it821x
hs87415
opt621
pdc202xx_old
piix
sc1200
serverworks
siimage
sis5513
trm290
via82cxxx
FireWire support:
sbp2
After hardware detection i had several modprobe processes ( 45 ! ) running which i couldn't kill even with SIGKILL.
Ubiquity then hung while trying to copy installation logs. I couldn't recover from that hang and had to kill ubiquity, thus wasn't able to do a complete install to HD.
If you need further information, ask.

Using Herd3 Ubuntu Desktop for install. Hangs for a couple minutes at 15% detecting file systems. It then formatted the root partition and checked my other partitions. Then it went along until 91% loading aec62xx for IDE chipset support.
That did not move after about 15 minutes; so I stopped the install.
