There is now a newer version of the ubuntuone-client (1.1.2) packages in Lucid. Upgrading to that should resolve this issue. The PPA packages are still broken, but future builds should be resolved now. I'm going to set this as fixed, since the newest version is fixed, though it's in Lucid proper and not the PPA (yet).
