A few notes from saviq and me about what should the service do ideally:

• driven from dash
• driven by the media scanner (additional)
• ability to cancel requests
• consider power connection (do more on AC, less on battery)
• continue with cancelled requests?
• ultimately a system service
• ageing mechanism
