Thanks for the package! I need to run MSSQL for work, so it has been a big problem for me since I upgraded to 7.10 last week.
I was able to get it installed (I think), but I get an error during config (below). Apt-get fails, but I am still able to run vmware alright. The only issue is, when I try to install something else with apt-get, it tries again to configure vmware, which is very annoying (because it always fails). It fails on bridged networking.
Starting VMware services:
Virtual machine monitor done
Virtual ethernet done
Bridged networking on /dev/vmnet0 failed
Host network detection done
Host-only networking on /dev/vmnet1 (background) done
DHCP server on /dev/vmnet1 done
Host-only networking on /dev/vmnet8 (background) done
DHCP server on /dev/vmnet8 done
NAT service on /dev/vmnet8 failed
invoke-rc.d: initscript vmware-player, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing vmware-player (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
vmware-player
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
