I've discovered that installing the package `x11-xserver-utils` solves this.

So, my trouble is both a general one and a specific one.

The general trouble is that there is no generic description of a recommended or suggested dependency, so I often find myself guessing about that. And if something doesn't work, I go see which recommended/suggested package I did not install.

And the specific issue is whether this can be made more clear. Perhaps this should be a normal dependency?

The package maintainer should be able to answer at least the latter.
