Agree with Nils. I tried xorg-x11-server-1.9.0-15.fc14.src.rpm and
was unable to stop fading 15 out of 367 tries (~4% failure rate).
This is big improvement, compared to >90% in 1.8.2-4 in F13.

Still, this bug is not fixed completely. (I still say the current
definition of negative transition is bad for life (but not wrong), and
could be deprecated after communication with its users. More widely-
used standards evolved in the past (check the IETF standards for
example), and this -ve trans. definition is not even defined in the
standard. But hey, Adam is the owner of the module. I just present
my argument (aka nagging :-) and whatever Adam decides is good for
me.)

For the failed cases, I still saw this (my own) debugging msg:
    10/16 09:15:50.053 #5 SyncChangeCounter newval= 60000
This msg suggests the fix in Comment #35, Comment #39 missed some
scenarios.
