I also made a little video shot of this boot. Notice how the screen blanks four times. The computer is perfectly usable in terminal mode (net access via cable) and works without any lockups.
btw:
$ which xresprobe
/usr/sbin/xresprobe
so it's still there. However, the xresprobe bug seems quite different, as it happened in a later stage of the install, and not at the bootup of the live cd.
