Im just noting I have opened a new bug here,

I have an X700, and I have had no luck in installing from the
official release of 6.10.

Changing the driver in Xorg.conf had no effect,
and, to be able to even get access to the console to check logs,
I had to select a vga mode from the boot screen (by pressing F4).
