I have built Gutsy packages of both xserver-xorg-core and xserver-xorg-vidoe-amd and uploaded them in my PPA:

By installing both, GX/LX users should get a functioning driver with DDC and automatic X configuration. Can subscribers to this bug test this and report on their results? Thanks!
