Does the ThinCan also have the following line in Xorg.0.log?
(II) GEODE(0): VESA VBE DDC read failed
It seems that the BIOS VBE DDC on the Award BIOS is either non-
existent or broken, hence failing on the Koolu WE/ION A603..

Jordan Crouse mentioned about adding support for libDDC that would use
the i2c protocol to interface with the monitor directly instead of
going through the BIOS. This would remove all BIOS dependencies for
detecting the proper monitor modes. This feature is slated for June.
