I've recompiled the latest driver from git (see upstream bug) and the driver now works. Looks like some code relating to the ch7017 chipset was removed in the gutsy version of the driver.

Although the recompiled driver works, 3D is not available. Hopefully this can be fixed soon.

I will try Hardy Alpha 4 over the weekend.
