This has been happening to me (eeepc 900 / i919 video) close to 50% of the time on 8-12 hour suspends. I usually recharge over night (and allow power manager to suspend after timeout). Sometimes I'm OK on the bus on the way to work, but I get the log on screen on the way home. Sometimes I get the log on screen on the first resume, and sometimes it works as expected.
I didn't ever see this problem on intrepid (before upgrading to Jaunty).
