 This is the partition manager from debian-installer (d-i), repackaged in
 order to be usable on a normal system. Like any partition manager, it has
 the potential to cause severe data loss; make sure to back up your data
 before running it.

 At present, some components of partman assume that no partitions on the
 hard disk are mounted anywhere, which may cause problems when running it
 from anything but a live CD.
