Welcome at the umtsmon website. UMTSmon is a tool to control and monitor a wireless mobile network card (GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, UMTS, HSDPA) in a laptop running the Linux operating system. It handles PIN codes, operator choice (roaming), signal strength and network statistics, sending/receiving SMS. It probably also works well with several 3G phones that provide a serial interface in Linux: please let me know how it works: kvangend at users.sf.net . If you know very little about UMTS and/or the various mobile technologies, it might be wise to start by clicking the "Extra docs" to the left and read the paper on UMTS and Linux first.
