Changelog
pcmanx-gtk2 (0.3.9-2ubuntu3) natty; urgency=low
* Drop the browser plugin entirely. It depends on a JS XPCOM component
being dropped in to the Firefox install folder in order to function,
and this doesn't work for several reasons:
- Firefox isn't installed to /usr/lib/firefox, but has a volatile install
path which changes with minor releases
- JS components are all compressed in to it's omni.jar. Firefox won't
load any that are installed in to components/
- Even in non omni.jar builds (which we don't support), Firefox will not
load these extra components unless they are added to it's components.list
(which exists to stop third-party installers from doing exactly this!)
No application should drop random XPCOM components in to the Firefox
install folder. The *only* correct way of adding extra components is
via an extension, so this stays disabled until it is fixed
