2hansen: are you talking about random freezes when you do nothing specific, or are you talking about freezes when you run xrandr?

I use dual-head constantly. I avoid using xrandr. Sometimes weeks pass with no problems. Sometimes I get three freezes in a single day, usually just after switching to a different workspace in metacity.
