PPA description
## Background
http://www.devops-blog.net/spacewalk/registering-ubuntu-and-debian-servers-with-spacewalk contains some great info on getting Spacewalk up and running with Ubuntu and Debian systems.
Unfortunately it's not as simple as "install-and-go" on Ubuntu releases before 14.10 due to missing packages on 12.04 and a bug in rhn-client-tools that exists right through 14.04. To fix this you have to compile a bunch of packages (perhaps on systems that shouldn't even have compilers installed) and make manual edits to system files (not ideal because a package update might revert that).
This PPA brings those same fixes in an "install-and-go" fashion.
## Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise Pangolin):
This repo contains apt-spacewalk, rhnsd and python-rhn backported from trusty. It also contains rhn-client-tools backported from vivid so that we get version 1.8.26-4 which fixes the bug. To get the client:
apt-get install python-software-properties
add-apt-repository ppa:aaronr/spacewalk
apt-get update
apt-get install apt-transport-spacewalk rhnsd
## Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr):
This repo contains just rhn-client-tools backported from vivid so that we get version 1.8.26-4 which fixes the bug. To get the client:
apt-get install software-properties-common
add-apt-repository ppa:aaronr/spacewalk
apt-get update
apt-get install apt-transport-spacewalk rhnsd

You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:aaronr/spacewalk to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:aaronr/spacewalk
sudo apt update
