CCID backports (libccid)
PPA description
Backport of more recent libccid versions to stable Ubuntu versions. This PPA started out of the need to get a Broadcom 5880v5 smart card reader to work. This type of reader is found in recent Dell Latitude machines, e.g. the E7250/E7450/E7470. Listed with lsusb as:
0a5c:5804 Broadcom Corp.
0a5c:5834 Broadcom Corp.
But of course many other readers are now supported in this newer version.
It may be required to restart the PCSCD service after updating. I.e.:
$ sudo service pcscd restart

Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:gertvdijk/ccid-backports to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
