Trusty qt5-* packages old enough (‘AA_SetPalette’ is not a member of ‘Qt’), probably 0.22 version will be last supported version for trusty.

You can try this fonts.conf configuration (create file under ~/.config/fontconfig/ ) if you have problem with Qt5 apps antialiasing first, before trying qt5ct:

Note: For qt5ct you need to add 'export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct' to ~/.profile
