Lenovo Patches and Fixes
PPA description
Some fixes for Lenovo laptops, primarily Thinkpads and Thinkpad Edge systems on 12.04 (Precise).
Many are configured with modaliases, so if you add the PPA and then run Jockey (The "Additional Drivers" app), then they should be offered if they're suitable for your machine. All packages should remove cleanly if you change your mind after.
alsa-hda-precise-dkms - brings in latest alsa code (at the time), and fixes failure to bring switch to external mic on some systems. Try it if suffering any audio issues.
clickpad-rightclick - configures right mouse click on some multitouch clickpads. Should be otherwise harmless.
lenovo-bx70e-antenna - reconfigures the antenna usage in the wifi driver for B470e and b570e systems (gains ~35dB of signal!). Only useful for these systems with Atheros wifi, which have only one antenna connected to the card.
micmute - fixes mic mute hotkey on many systems.
psmouse-exps - install only if you lose trackpad on your system sometimes/all the time. Will kill multi-touch on the trackpad at the expense of having a reliable trackpad.
psmouse-suspend-modules: reloads the mouse (trackpad/point) module on suspend, deals with issues where they fail to work after suspend. Should have no downsides.
rts-5229-dkms: kernel module to make realtek card reader work (found on newer systems).
touchpad-togglekey: fixes touchpad hotkey on many systems.
trackpoint-psouse-reload: In recent ThinkPads with trackpoints, sometimes the trackpoint fails to work on boot. This workaround reloads the psmouse module if no trackpoint is found, often fixing the issue.
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:jamesf/lenovofixes to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
