compton
PPA description
PPA for the compton compositing manager. Upstream sources are at https://github.com/chjj/compton. The sources packaged here, which are identical except for packaging information, are available at https://github.com/kelleyk/compton.
The upstream sources are on the `upstream` branch; the `master` branch adds packaging information. The source packages that I upload are built with the help of my `kk-debuilder` utility (described at https://github.com/kelleyk/kk-debuilder).
$ kk-debuilder --all-supported --all-unreleased --source-only
The version available in this PPA will follow the upstream master branch. (This PPA originally contained a fork of the upstream project, but my pull request has since been merged.)
I have incremented the version number of the package from `0.1~beta2` to `0.1~beta3` to ensure that these packages are considered newer than the older (c. 2013) ones in the main Ubuntu package repositories.
This PPA will provide packages for all supported and future releases. Right now, those are 14.04LTS ("trusty"), 16.04LTS ("xenial"), 17.10 ("artful"), and 18.04LTS ("bionic"). Launchpad does not accept new uploads for obsolete (i.e. unsupported) releases.
This PPA provides packages for x86, amd64, armhf, arm64, and ppc64el.
Debug symbols are available! After adding the PPA however you normally do, find the corresponding entry in `/etc/apt/sources.list.d`.
It will look like the first line below (though the suite name may be different if you are not using bionic); duplicate it and change the component name ("main") to "main/debug".

Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:kelleyk/compton to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)

sudo apt update
