Hewlett Packard 2400 scanner linux drivers
PPA description
NOTE: There is a patched version of libsane with improved genesys driver for Hewlett Packard 2400 scanner available in PPA https://launchpad.net/~lion-simba/+archive/hp2400-genesys. Consider using that open and free genesys driver instead of this proprietary driver.
Here is packaged third-party (http://www.elcot.in/linuxdrivers_download.php) binary drivers for Hewlett Packard 2400 scanner with all required dependencies. Packages are for i386 and amd64 architectures.
After adding this PPA to your software sources, just do:
for i386:
apt-get install libsane-hp2400
for amd64:
apt-get install libsane-hp2400x64 scanimage-ia32 xsane-ia32
for all:
add your user account to "saned" system group.
Note that x64 driver is the same i386 driver packaged for using ia32-libs subsystem. "scanimage-ia32" and "xsane-ia32" packages contain i386 versions of corresponding utils. This is the only way to get this scanner work on amd64. And note that xsane-ia32 package works well with amd64 version of gimp.
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:lion-simba/hp2400 to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lion-simba/hp2400
sudo apt update
