Unity Desktop with Systray Whitelisting Support

PPA description

This PPA is based on the patch by Jason Donahue (aka timekiller) and provides a patched version of the Unity Desktop that reverts the horrible decision by Canonical to remove the systray whitelist.
This PPA provides the latest Unity build with all patches applied *EXCEPT* the one that removes the systray whitelist.

Note: These packages do not auto-whitelist anything. You will still need to edit your whitelist to see systray items like this:

View whitelist:
gsettings get com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist

Set Whitelist (this example will Whitelist everything):
gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']"

Adding this PPA to your system

You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:liuk001/unity-systrayfix to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing) 

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:liuk001/unity-systrayfix
sudo apt update
