ClipArt Finder

This is a clipart finder application for the GNOME-desktop. It can search and download free clipart and other images from the internet. This program can translate search queries (words) from almost any language to English. And images are saved locally for later use. The search is plugin-based and new engines can be added easily. Currently there are plugins for the Open ClipArt library and Google's Image search. This program has two variants: * The clipart-finder is an ordinary window'ed GNOME-program. You can start it from the command line or menu. * clipart-finder-applet is an applet that you attach and run from the GNOME's tooolbar panel.

EDIT: A minor bug.
The installation fails to reload the gnome-panel.
After installation, type the following command in a terminal window (or press ALT + F2 and):
pkill gnome-panel

Or simply logout/login.
After this the clipart-finder-applet will appear in the toolbar panel's "Add to panel..." list. You can also start it from the Applications -> Graphics menu.

Note: The Open ClipArt library provides a lot of good vector art (.svg) images. Its search-engine understands best one-word queries, like "horse", "car" and "daffodil". So search one (1) word at a time if you want to find good .svg images ;-)
