This archive is for the kst2 scientific plotting program and its otherwise unpackaged dependencies. So far the only such dependency is libgetdata (http://getdata.sourceforge.net), required for kst to read dirfiles.
kst2 plots scientific data
==========================
Kst is the fastest real-time large-dataset viewing and plotting tool available and has basic data analysis functionality. Kst contains many powerful built-in features and is expandable with plugins and extensions. Kst is freely available for anyone to download and use.
It is installed with the single package: kst2
libgetdata library for reading and writing dirfile data
======================================================
The GetData Project is the reference implementation of the Dirfile Standards, a filesystem-based, column-oriented database format for time-ordered binary data. The Dirfile database format is designed to provide a fast, simple format for storing and reading data.
libgetdata provides the following binary packages:
libgetdata4: the library C binaries (the base implementation)
libgetdata++2: C++ bindings to the library
libfgetdata2: Fortran (F77) bindings to the library
libf95getdata2: Fortran (F95) bindings to the library
NB: Fortran bindings built against fortran-compiler, which is currently gfortran
python-pygetdata: python bindings to the library
libgetdata-dev: development files to build GetData programs in C, C++ or Fortran
libgetdata-tools: utility programs for the library (checkdirfile, dirfile2ascii)
Note: for versions below 0.7.3-1, the list of packages was different (and less in compliance with packaging policy). To upgrade, the graphical client will request to run a Partial (Distribution) Upgrade; you should agree. From the command line use apt-get dist-upgrade. Or just remove old libgetdata packages before installing the new ones.
