Nomination of Matthew Garrett to the Tech Board

Matthew Garrett (mjg59) is nominated to join the Technical Board. He would serve for an initial period of two years.

Members of the Ubuntu Development Team (Universe and Core) are invited to vote to confirm his appointment. A majority of votes in favour will confirm his appointment.

Here follows background information on Matthew:

== BEGIN ==
I started running Debian in 1998, and I've been enthusiastic about
free software ever since then. My first contribution to Debian was
work on a port to the NetBSD kernel (sadly unfinished), but I got more
heavily involved in the free software community when I was given the
opportunity to manage the Dasher project for a year. Since then I've
been heavily involved in Debian, and became interested in Ubuntu after
visiting the development conference in Oxford in 2004. My work on
Ubuntu has been concentrated on laptop support, and I've been heavily
involved in coordination between the desktop and kernel in that
respect. In the future, I'm hoping to continue that work to the point
where laptop support under Linux can be considered as good as under
Windows.
