Bug Description

The Chromium extension keeps crashing when I open WebApps enabled sites. The last 2 times it was when I opened Facebook.com (I had selected to never ask again for Facebook.com but it did again and it showed some weird diamond-shaped characters (as if some could not load)) and Gmail.com.

I don't know how I can provide more information since there is no Ubuntu crash window since it's in Ubuntu.

The longest (active browsing-)time the plugin did not crash here is around an hour, it always crashed for some reason.

[Test Case]
- open an empty chromium,
- open a tab and navigate to a URL for which a WebApp is available but NOT installed (e.g. facebookmessenger),
- wait until you see an infobar inviting one to install the WebApp,
- reload the page until one sees the crash, it usually occurs during the next 2 refreshes,

[Regression Potential]
None, the fix is small and mitigated. The worse that can happen is a memory leak (not the case though).

Here is an example of what happens when it crashes on Facebook.com

Hello Steven, or anyone else affected,

Accepted unity-chromium-extension into quantal-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-chromium-extension/2.4.4-0ubuntu0.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please change the bug tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not, change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!

The fix for this bug has been awaiting testing feedback in the -proposed repository for quantal for more than 90 days. Please test this fix and update the bug appropriately with the results. In the event that the fix for this bug is still not verified 15 days from now, the package will be removed from the -proposed repository.

This doesn't appear to be crashing for me any more using -proposed
