Bug Description

On Window Manager --> Window snapping there is a choice to change Outline color and Fill color. When someone changes that, transparency resets to no transparency.

I changed the colors to test it on using the same colors. When I applied it I was left with the same colors but without any transparency.

There is going to be a change to the way window snapping works in Ubuntu 13.04 and perhaps it should be put into consideration. See also: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2013/01/new-icons-window-snap-animation-land-in-unity

A workaround exists.You can execute

gsettings reset org.compiz.grid:/org/compiz/profiles/unity/plugins/grid/ outline-color
gsettings reset org.compiz.grid:/org/compiz/profiles/unity/plugins/grid/ fill-color

in a terminal to reset the settings to their default values.
We are currently rewriting the entire backend, and this has been fixed there.

I just wanted to echo comment 5 -- if a separate bug report should be filed, please indicate so here -- but I expect they probably stem from the same cause.

@jejbarr, yes please. Please file a new bug for this particular issue so we
can track it separately. Thanks again.

Thanks,

Window resize color and window snapping colors both show a transparent fill now. The updates will land in PPA in less than 24 hours.

@Barneedhar -- Apologies for not seeing your comment #7 until today. However, the issue I referenced is in fact fixed now with the most current PPA build. Thanks!
