This currently requires an action from an administrator. Some infrastructure is currently dependent on project/product/series name.

Since product descriptions are reviewed by admins, I think it would be fitting to leave changing project-product associations as a privileged operation. However there should certainly be an obvious workflow based on the ticket tracker to process such requests.

On second thought, I think this action should only be privileged for reviewed products.

But that does not remove the need for a admin-request workflow.

Daniel, can I consider this bug fixed with the fix for bug 1506 that already landed?

1506 is allowing you to specify a project when making a *NEW* product.

That doesn't solve the "I have a product, how do I link it to my
project" problem.

Sorry, I didn't explain it, in the 1506 fix I added the Project field to the +new and +edit product forms.
